Dr. Soney John is an accomplished academician with 19 years of teaching experience and 5 years of industry experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Calicut, with research focused on statistical analysis of peak flows in Kerala river basins, along with an M.Sc. in Statistics, PGDCA, and B.Sc. in Mathematics, Statistics and Physics.
His academic career includes teaching and leadership roles at institutions such as Marian Institute of Management, Marian International Institute of Management, St. John’s College, Calicut University, and Our International. His areas of teaching and expertise include Operations Research, Quantitative Methods, Management Information Systems, Research Methodology, Statistics, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Quantitative Aptitude. He has also served as a Ph.D. supervisor at Lincoln University College, Malaysia.
Dr. Soney has contributed actively to research, academic conferences, workshops, and professional development programmes. His research interests include Total Quality Management, innovative HR practices, employee engagement, statistical modelling, rainfall-runoff analysis, and water resource management. He has presented and published research at national and international forums and has served as a resource person and track chair at academic conferences.
He has also held significant administrative responsibilities, including Dean – Student Affairs, programme and event coordinator, alumni and industry-visit coordinator, and faculty coordinator for various student clubs and associations. His industry experience includes working as a Project Scientist at the Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), Government of Kerala, where he was involved in research and analysis of hydro-meteorological data.
